Thanks Dave. Learned a lot of this post. I did get it to work, but instead of inserting a web part for the comments I used a second data view so I could style the comments a little easier. Still working on the redirect.

@ Justin, with the filter issue make sure you have a comment in the comments list that is associated with the post ID you are filtering by. Also check the filter settings and the parameters on the DVWP I spent a long time trying to figure out the same problem and it was just an issue with the parameter name.

I assume the redirect could be dynamic but I have not tried that yet. You would most likely have to use a different script on the button in order for it to work.

Ok, last question. I promise. For the redirect, is it possible to make it go to a dynamic id?

Well I haven't gotten this to work yet, but the other site content is completely different than this one. Thanks for posting Dave. Your site has been helping me out a lot.

When I add the filter to my dataview it doesn't display any items. I thought I was following your instructions to a T, any suggestions?

@ Truth
Plagiarism, as defined in the 1995 Random House Compact Unabridged Dictionary, is the "use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work."[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plagiarism)

Nothing in this blog post was copied for the link you posted. That post is about taks lists and I am talking about something different. Some of the concepts are similar but using web part connections and query string variables is not plagiarizing. Please don't make accusations unless there is a real basis for them. Thanks

This is another rip off of a great post at EUSP. Seriously, if you did anything to make it your own, I'd give you credit, but you are plagiarizing peoples' hard work. This whole post can be found here: http://www.sharepointhillbilly.com/archive/2009/12/08/creating-a-sharepoint-list-parentchild-relationship-ndash-video-remix.aspx

You really ought to think twice about posting someone else's work up on your blog without giving any notion or nod to the original author. It's downright unethical...
